Habitat Restoration, Conservation & Research for the Salton Sea

Salton Sea Conservation Coalition is a nonprofit working to restore and improve habitats across the Salton Sea region and surrounding communities. We focus on practical, on-the-ground projects that strengthen wildlife habitat, support biodiversity, and build long-term stewardship through education, research, and community engagement.

Our work includes habitat restoration and enhancement, conservation projects, volunteer-led stewardship, interpretive and environmental education programming, and public outreach that helps people understand what’s happening at the Salton Sea and how to get involved. We also support research and educational materials that make Salton Sea conservation more accessible to residents, students, and visitors.

We collaborate with public agencies, tribal and local partners, and community organizations—including projects connected to the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge—to deliver grant-funded initiatives with measurable public benefit. Whether you’re looking to volunteer, partner on a project, or support restoration efforts, we’re here to help move the Salton Sea toward a healthier future.
